Small, regular moments of learning at home can help children enjoy practising what they learn at school. Begin with a short routine that fits your family.
Read and talk together
Let your child choose a short story or look through a picture book. Read together in Odia, English or a language your child understands. Ask, “What do you notice?” or “What might happen next?” Give time to answer.
Find learning in everyday life
Count spoons while setting the table, sort objects by shape or colour, and read familiar labels. Ask your child to explain how they counted or sorted. Use small objects only with appropriate adult supervision.
Encourage effort and stay connected
Notice a specific effort: “You tried another way” or “You checked your answer.” If a task feels difficult, offer one small hint and let your child try again. Share questions with the teacher and ask which skill would be useful to practise next.
